1. All entrants to any WVLT VOLUNTEER TV contest both imply and agree to participate in the contests and obey the rules by their participation in the contest.
2. All prizes must be accepted as awarded. Prizes are non-exchangeable, non-transferable, and art no redeemable for cash or other prizes. WVLT-TV retains the right to substitute a prize with another similar prize of equal or greater value in the event the original prize offered is not available due to circumstances beyond WVLT-TV’s control.
3. All prizes will be presented to winners in person @ WVLT-TV Studios, 6450 Papermill Drive, Knoxville, TN 37919, unless otherwise noted. Must have photo ID to claim prize.
4. Inability of winners to accept the prizes will result in forfeiture.
5. Certain prizes may require winner to be 18 years of age or older, or have signed permission of parent or legal guardian to accept the prize.
6. Employees of WVLT-TV or contest affiliated companies, their advertising agencies, and immediate families are not eligible to enter to win.
7. No contest winner may represent, or appear in any advertisement for any other television station in the Knoxville area, other than WVLT-TV for a period of 1 (one) month from the day he/she wins the contest. Additionally, no prize may be used in any way that would have, or could have been expected to have an adverse or negative effect on WVLT-TV.
8. If the prize includes travel, lodging, entertainment, or a special event, winner is responsible for all taxes, expenses, and gratuities not expressly included in and as part of the prize. Winner agrees to accept all blackout dates, space availability requirements, etc. established by WVLT-TV prize partner(s), such as hotels, airlines, rains, ships, etc.
9. Winner agrees that acceptance of any trip taken as a prize from WVLT-TV does so entirely upon their own initiative, risk, and responsibility. If the trip requires traveling outside of the United States, the winner, upon winning the prize, must have a valid US passport. If the winner does not have a valid US passport upon winning the prize, the trip may be forfeited.
10. Winner will permit WVLT-TV to use their name, voice and/or likeness without prior notice or compensation, for promotional purposes in connection with the contest in either broadcast, web or print forms.
11. Winner is responsible for all costs associated with travel to any venue or event for which a prize was awarded, unless otherwise specified.
12. No purchase necessary.
13. Winner shall solely be responsible for all applicable taxes or additional charges on any prize awarded. Winner will be requested to execute a W-9 tax form. It is understood that an Internal Revenue form 1099 to report on the value of any such prize as earned income will be issued for such purposes by either WVLT-TV, or its promotional partner issuing the prize. Winner agrees to accept the estimate of fair market value. This is applicable to all prizes valued at $599 or more including cash won that adds up to $599 or more in any given year.
14. Prize winners must execute and return this release form, a W-9, a photocopy of legal document showing social security number, and any additionally required forms within 10 days of receiving forms. WVLT-TV requires proof of winners’ own social security number before prize can be sent to winner. Receipt of prize may be delayed until such proof is received by WVLT-TV. Prizes will be mailed/available for pick up 6-8 weeks after they have been awarded, unless otherwise noted. 15. Concert tickets are usually not available until 2 weeks prior to the concert date.
16. Winner agrees to indemnify and hold forever harmless WVLT-TV, Gray Television Inc., promotion agencies their agents, officers, employees, affiliates and assigns for any injuries, accidents, misfortunes, or causes of action arising from or in connection with participation in any contest and/or acceptance of the prize.
17. Only one person may enter any contest per written entry form.
18. No “duos”, groups, or teams will be allowed to enter together. Any ties, disputes, conflicts, questions or concerns regarding WVLT-TV contests and/or their associated prizes will be handled by the WVLT-TV Marketing and Promotions Department, whose decisions are final and indisputable.
19. I agree to indemnify and to hold WVLT-TV, Gray Television Inc., it’s affiliated and parent companies harmless in the event of any injuries or other maladies with regards participation in any contest staged or sponsored by WVLT-TV. I have entered the contest at my own risk, and agree to hold nobody responsible for any injuries or misfortune with regards to participation in any WVLT-TV contest.
20. If concert or other ticketed event has been awarded as a prize and the concert or event is postponed, rained out, cancelled, or for other reasons beyond our control does not occur, WVLT-TV will be responsible for replacing the prize.
21. Contest/Prizes subject to Federal, State, and local regulations and laws and is void where restricted or prohibited by law. Upon winning any prize from WVLT-TV, the contest is no longer eligible to win any prize from WVLT-TV within a thirty (30) day period following the first win.
22. Upon winning a prize valued at $1,000 or more or winning a trip, the household may not win a second trip or prize valued at $1,000 or more within a one (1) year period following the first win.
Winners must use their true, legal name when playing contests or claiming prizes or may not win any contest under an assumed name. Winner will be disqualified and prize(s) forfeited it they are found playing under an assumed name or alias.
23. WVLT-TV and Gray Television Inc. is not responsible for any disconnection of a participant’s telephone call due to call or long distance phone company’s failure, power company failure, or other act of god. This includes wireless providers.
24. WVLT-TV retains the right to amend these rules and regulations at any time for any reason.

UPICKEM.com National & General Contest Rules:

No purchase necessary. One valid entry per contestant.

You must be 18 years of age or older at time of entry to be eligible for this contest. This contest is void where prohibited by law.

Winners will be notified by email. If a winner is unreachable after seven (7) days, or if that winner is unavailable for prize fulfillment, an alternate winner will be selected. If UPICKEM.com or its affiliates cannot find an eligible winner for the prize, that prize will not be awarded.

Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.

UPICKEM.com and its affiliates reserve the right to substitute any prize with another prize of equal or greater value.

Affiliates reserve the right to restrict the local winners to only persons whose primary residence is within the affiliate's' coverage area.

Employees of UPICKEM.com and its affiliates, their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising sponsors and promotional agencies, and the immediate family members of each are not eligible.

Employees of UPICKEM.com and its affiliates, their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, agents, successors, and assignees of UPICKEM.com, its advertising agencies and promotional companies involved in this Promotion, as well as family and household members of same, shall be ineligible to participate in the Promotion and shall be ineligible for any prize covered herein. The parties acknowledge that SCA Promotions, Inc., is not liable for reimbursement of any prizes otherwise payable to Promotion contestants who are in violation of this provision.

Names and likenesses of winner(s) may be used by UPICKEM.com and UPICKEM.com's designee(s) for promotional purposes without further compensation to UPICKEM.com or the winner(s).

Contest entrants agree to abide by the terms of these Official Rules and by the decisions of the contest commissioners, which are final on all matters pertaining to the contest.

Entrants further grant to UPICKEM.com and its affiliates the right to use and publish their proper name and state online and in print, or any other media, in connection with the Contest.

UPICKEM.com and its affiliates reserve the right to use any and all information related to the Contest, including information on contestants obtained through the contest, for marketing purposes or any other purpose, unless prohibited by law.

Each winner, by acceptance of the prize, agrees to release all Sponsors, and their parent and subsidiary companies, their officers, directors, employees, agents, shareholders, affiliates, suppliers, distributors, and advertising agencies from all liability, claims, or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages, or losses to persons and property which may be sustained in connection with the receipt, ownership, or use of the prize.

UPICKEM.com and its affiliates are not responsible for Internet crashes or slowdowns caused by network congestion, viruses, sabotage, satellite failures, phone line failures, electrical outages, natural disasters or acts of man or God.

If a game is canceled, forfeited, or indefinitely suspended for any reason, or if a game results in a tie, that game shall not count for any contestant and scores will be computed as if the game did not exist.

All results posted are unofficial until winners respond to e-mail notification.

Each winner is responsible for all federal, state and local taxes and will be required to complete an IRS form W-9. Sponsor reserves the right to withhold prizes until completed form W-9 is received.

Each round of the tournament is worth 64 points. There are 6 rounds in the tournament that total up to 384 points. First round games are 2 points each. Second round games are 4 points each. Third round games are 8 points each. Fourth round games are 16 points each. Fifth round games are 32 points each. And the final championship game is worth 64 points.

Ties are broken as follows: For rounds 1 through 6:
Fans pick who they think is going to win along with the score for a designated tie-breaker game. The computer then takes all the fans who are tied and applies this "Score Approximation Formula" outlined in points 1-3 immediately below:
1. Subtracts what the fan chose as the score for the winning team from the actual winning team's score and squares this value.
2. Subtracts what the fan chose as the score for the losing team from the actual losing team's score and squares this value.
3. Adds 1 and 2 above together to get the fan's "score approximation".
If there is still a tie after determining the "score approximation" then the computer than chooses a random winner from those who are tied.

For the overall winner: If there are ties for overall score the computer takes those fans that picked the championship game correctly and applies the score approximation formula outlined above. If there are still ties the computer looks at who had:

1. The most points earned in the Fifth Round.
2. The most points earned in the Fourth Round.
3. The most points earned in the Third Round.
4. The most points earned in the Second Round.
5. The most points earned in the First Round.
6. If there is still a tie the computer picks a random winner from the tied players.

Fans can only only win one of the cash prizes outlined below. So, for example, a $100,000.00 winner cannot also win a $10,000.00 or $1,000.00 prize and a $10,000.00 winner cannot also win a $1,000.00 prize.

One (1) $100,000.00 cash prize could be awarded to an eligible fan who picks all 63 games in the contest correctly. If there are more than one (1) verified winners the prize award will be evenly divided between all winners.

Up to five (5) $10,000.00 cash prizes could be awarded to eligible fans who pick 61 or 62 games in the contest correctly. If there are more than five (5) verified winners the prize awards will be evenly divided between all winners.

Up to ten (10) $1,000.00 cash prizes could be awarded to eligible fans who pick 60 games in the contest correctly. If there are more than ten (10) verified winners the prize awards will be evenly divided between all winners.

Determination of cash prize winners, verification of eligibility, and compliance with these rules will be conducted by SCA Promotions, Inc., whose decision will be final.

All decisions of the judges are final.

This contest is not intended for gambling. If it is determined that a contestant is using the contest for gambling purposes they will be disqualified and reported to authorities.
